Responsibilities

• Create a unique retail experience in line with the brand

• Manage the shop to ensure a creative and inspiring layout, lighting and stock display

• Set annual trading budgets and targets

• Full responsibility for managing the retail trading budget and profit and loss account, monitoring performance against agreed key performance indicators (KPI’s)

• Develop and maintain suitable measures and systems for controlling stock control, to ensure sufficient levels of stock at minimum stock holding and to keep write-off stock to minimum

• Maximize retail turnover and profit working to grow the business in order to support the brand’s ongoing financial viability

• Ensure effective systems for cash handling and retail banking are in place, reviewing and updating business processes as necessary

• Ensure that the shop offers visitors a range of products at appropriate pricing levels and meets the organizations income targets

• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through retail management and staff meetings, store walk-through and audits, etc.

• Continually evaluate and react to performance issues and actively recruit retail candidates

• Monitor low performing brands and suggest methods to drive quick, sustained and effective turnaround in performance

• Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency

• Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget

• Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation

• Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise

• Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays

• Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store

• Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts

• Perform any other tasks as assigned.

 

Skills & Requirements

• BSc. / HND in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field

• Experience in luxury industry

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Retail Manager

• Professional certification will be an advantage

• Working knowledge of the fashion industry

• Knowledge of consumer spending trends and buying patterns

• Excellent customer-facing skill

• Knowledge and understanding of business policies and procedures

• Ability to create detailed spreadsheets, charts, and presentations

• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools

• Must have the ability to navigate stressful situations

• Excellent time management skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Good intuitive, negotiating, and analytical skill

• Excellent written and communication skill.

• Passionate about fashion, design, art, culture, luxury

• Must be organized and detail oriented

• Must be professional in attitude and appearance

• Must be a good team player

• Possess a strong emotional intelligence

• Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality

• Must be willing to work long hours and be very responsive
